At Magic Time Yachting, we give sailors the chance to experience some of the UK and Europe’s most exciting offshore racing with both the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) and the Junior Offshore Group (JOG). These events combine tactical coastal sailing with challenging offshore legs, providing the perfect mix of competition, seamanship, and adventure.
RORC Offshore Series
RORC is renowned worldwide for organising some of the most prestigious offshore races. Their season offers a variety of iconic challenges, from shorter cross-Channel classics to longer tactical courses:
- Cervantes Trophy Race – Cowes to Le Havre
- De Guingand Bowl – Cowes, around marks
- Myth of Malham Race – Cowes to the Eddystone and back into the Solent
- Morgan Cup – Cowes to Dartmouth
- Cowes–Dinard–St. Malo Race – Cowes to St. Malo
- Channel Race – Around marks in the Channel
- Cherbourg Race – Cowes to Cherbourg
Each race blends tactical inshore manoeuvres with longer offshore passages, testing navigation, endurance, and teamwork in ever-changing conditions.
JOG Offshore Racing
The Junior Offshore Group (JOG) focuses on accessible offshore racing with a friendly yet competitive spirit. Its races are typically shorter than RORC’s, often cross-Channel or coastal, making them ideal for sailors building offshore experience or looking for more frequent racing opportunities. JOG combines Corinthian values with a welcoming community, offering the perfect stepping stone for those who want to progress to longer offshore challenges.
